A. Job Summary/Purpose The Disaster Restoration Technician 1 provides support to the Lead Technician (DR2 and above) as a first responder in referred water mitigation and mold remediation losses. B. Key Responsibilities/Duties o Assist in dry-out of water damages. o Assist in mold remediation services. o Sketch affected areas. o Update and check job information, dry logs, notes and control points in company software. o Set up/take down of all drying equipment. o Demolition of any saturated, porous materials as needed for drying. o Clear and timely communication with supervisors, homeowners and insurance adjusters as needed. o Maintain assigned equipment and vehicle maintenance scheduling and repairs for the usage of vans and tools assigned to their care. o Shampooing, floor care and upholstery cleanup as required. o Carpet repairs and spot removal. o Assist with pack-out/back and content evaluations and/or cleanings. C. Experience/Requirements/Skills/Qualifications o Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays. o Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices. o Ability to clearly explain processes to the insured. o Able to work in personal protective equipment. o Ability to utilize interpersonal problem-solving, customer service, critical thinking and creativity skill sets. o Reliable transportation to and from work 24 hours a day. o Clean DMV record. o Must be able to pass background check. D. Working Conditions o Dress at all times according to Calwest Construction’s standard of dress – Properly cleaned uniforms, good hygiene, clean hair, etc. o Daily Travel is required. o Working in confined spaces and wet conditions. o Maneuver frequently on stairs, ladders or uneven, narrow and wet areas. o Will need to be available to be on call when needed. o Must be able to lift 75lbs on a regular basis. o Physically fit to work in confined spaces and repeated level changes. o This position is on a weekly rotation for after-hours on call o All supervisors and /or leads are working supervisor/leads.
