Press release from the Town of Lexington: June 14, 2020 The Red Cross is seeking plasma donations from recovered COVID-19 patients. People who have fully recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies in their plasma that can attack the virus. This convalescent plasma is being evaluated as treatment for patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections. Find out more about plasma donation and how to donate. Blood donations are also needed. Due to the need for social distancing for the safety of both donors and Red Cross staff, the number of units of blood collected at each blood drive is now much lower.
