Description
Meet Simba! Simba is a male Angora/Lionhead cross. He is our special needs, senior resident. Simba was rescued from an overbreeding situation where he was kept in a tiny wire-bottom cage, possibly his entire life. He came to me with the worst ear mite infestation I've ever seen. He was covered in mats, all over his entire body, covering his eyes and ears. He also had an untreated eye injury, leaving him nearly, if not fully blind in his right eye. He does not get along well with males, he will try to kill them. This was attempted to be remedied by getting him neutered, but anesthesia was proven to be hazardous to him, so neutering is out of the question. This makes him very difficult to bond with other bunnies, but not impossible. Today, Simba is thriving, with his new haircut and a suitable environment. He likes to keep to himself a lot of the time and does not enjoy being held much. But he does like to free roam and get pets and treats. Due to his harsh previous situation, he may become very overwhelmed at times, so someone who is experienced with bunny de-escalation or is willing to learn about it, will be considered first. His ideal home would be somewhere that he could have a hutch, as well be allowed to free roam every day, for at least a few hours, and to possibly be the only bunny. He does spook easily, so a home without dogs would be best, as he doesn't enjoy their presence, even if they are being nice. He LOVES cats! Simba does warm up, but he takes time. He does love cuddles once he has bonded with you, as well as nail trims and hair cuts. He loves getting his hair washed and brushed. He is a very misunderstood boy but he has a lot to offer. He gives the best boops on the nose, is food motivated, extremely SMART and is quite entertaining. I have done everything that I can for him but I know that me having dogsand other rescue bunnies is bothersome to him. Please include a brief explanation of why you think you'd be a great fit for Simba!
