Description
Hi. I am an experienced (retired Duval County Schools music teacher with music degree) choir director and worship team leader who is interested in serving in a local Christian fellowship.
Regular, weekly choir, or occasional, (just at Christmas and Easter) is OK if year-'round is too difficult for family schedules. Also, worship team leadership, recruiting and playing for church services regularly is is desired and playing for special events, such as Fall Festivals, church picnics or events and other outreach opportunities are possibilities. Experience includes Methodist, Baptist, Independent and Anglican churches. Choirs consisted of 10 to 30 persons with typical choir arrangements. Worship team experiences were with four or five musicians and a few singers, as well as myself singing and playing keyboard. My abilities include sight reading for piano and sight singing for songs. I like to teach choirs and worship teams to lead in worship, not merely "perform".
Praise music background includes contemporary, such as Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Passion, etc. This is about seeing where Jesus would have me serve part time, so pay is of minimal concern with the right place. (A large pay and the right place is also quite acceptable. Just kidding. :) There are a few contingencies involved that can easily be worked out that we can discuss during interviews.
Please email me if you have or will have such a position to fill. I am involved in a local church now (not musically), and am quite happy there, but I'm open to new opportunities if the right match opens up. Thank you.
