Press release from the City of Suwanee:
04/18/2022 12:07 PM
The Suwanee Arts Center (SAC) is primed to paint the town at the Suwanee Arts Festival – a two-day celebration of art and artists, May 14 and 15 in Town Center Park.
Town Center will be filled with high-quality, juried artistic offerings of various mediums, including painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, wood, jewelry, glass, fiber, and more! The festival will also feature live artist demonstrations, food trucks, and entertainment on the Town Center stage.
"This is such a wonderful opportunity for local artists to showcase their skills and abilities and share their art with the community," said SAC president Sheila Crumrine.
Young art enthusiasts can attend children's drawing classes, a hands-on experience for all ages and experience levels! An artist will provide step-by-step instructions to create a masterpiece that young artists can take home as a souvenir.
The Arts Festival will also serve as the official unveiling of the City of Suwanee's seventh SculpTour exhibit. SculpTour is the City of Suwanee's recurring temporary sculpture exhibition. The public art encounter has brought nearly 100 sculptures to a walkable one-mile area of downtown Suwanee since 2011. With goals to enliven Town Center, attract visitors, and stimulate interest in Suwanee's public art program, SculpTour adds to the sense of dynamism, energy, rhythm, and ritual in the city.
