FREE COMMUNITY EVENT FOR THE TRUE LABOR DAY "may day in las vegas" on facebook Now more than ever it's clear: Las Vegas can't just be a playground for the rest of the world. It needs to be a place where workers and their families can not only survive and hold their heads above water, but actively thrive. Without workers and without labor, Las Vegas would screech to a halt. Las Vegas residents work hard and deserve living wages and affordable housing - not more rent increases, application fees, and struggles. Enough is enough, isn't it? People need relief. At 5pm on May 1st we will assemble in the parking lot at the Sahara entrance of the Historic Commercial Center District (953 E. Sahara) for our 16th Annual Vegas May Day March & Rally. Beginning at 5:30PM we will march down Sahara Ave to our destination where we will rally. The event is family-friendly. Event to feature keynote speakers. Plenty of parking and parking is free. Water to be provided! T-shirts supplied with any donation. After-party with food, drinks, and entertainment to follow. After-party is to fundraise for Vegas May Day 2023, address will be provided on the May Day in Las Vegas Facebook page. Traditionally, May Day has been celebrated as International Workers' Day - the true Labour Day. Tracing it's history back to the 1886 protests in Chicago's Haymarket Square for an 8-hour work day, May Day is held globally in remembrance of all the workers who historically fought before us and all the workers who are still in pursuit of rights today. We welcome you, your families, and your fellow workers to stand in solidarity with one another and demand a better future. - COME JOIN YOUR NEIGHBORS! A BETTER LIFE IS POSSIBLE.
