Two Lexington Students Earn National Merit Scholarship

LEXINGTON, MA — Two Lexington High School seniors were among the 36 graduating seniors across Massachusetts who earned a scholarship sponsored by a university. The two students are Kelly X. Hui and Alex Zhang. This week's scholarships are the third round handed out so far in 2020. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced 3,300 winners across the U.S. on Wednesday. Each student will get between $500 and $2,000. An additional round of college based scholarships will be announced in July, according to the NMSC. Hui plans on studying public policy. The scholarship was sponsored by the University of Chicago. Zhang plans on studying nursing. The scholarship was sponsored by Emory University.
