I’m REALLY struggling BAD and going downhill fast. Sadly, I’m harming myself!! Frustration from long periods of confinement has caused me to tear my toenails and cut the top of my nose in my kennel. It’s just not humane to keep me here. Who can save my life? I don’t want to die in this shelter... I’m a 4-year-old, neutered, brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix (69lbs.) I'm heartbroken... I can't find a loving home... This is my third time at the shelter; twice as a stray and once as an owner surrender. My previous owners surrendered me because the cat and I didn’t work out. They said I loved adults and kids! In the shelter, I love to be petted, take treats nicely, and will splash and play in the water! I am affectionate, but I do have a hard time settling. Sadly, I have never had stability or a loving home. I wish I could find a home that won't give up on me, then maybe I can relax! I would also love a backyard to play in! When I was previously assessed with other dogs, I was reported to be selective (“choosey”) about dogs I liked. I haven’t had a dog-to-dog evaluation during my current stay; however, the shelter is recommending me to be an only dog due to my high level of over-excitement and pulling toward dogs when nearby (That could also be stress). It is also recommended that I meet the entire family before going home, and that children in the home be older. Will you come and meet me?
