NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven woman has been charged in connection with a recent stabbing, according to police. On July 27, detectives began investigating a reported stabbing that may have happened at a North Haven residence the previous day, officials said. A man was treated at a local hospital for a puncture wound. The man reported that he was injured in Waterbury, then changed his story several times and at one point mentioned North Haven, according to police. The victim left the hospital before police arrived. Police said both the victim and the suspect were "uncooperative with investigators." Police said through interviews with hospital staff, witnesses, and the collection of physical evidence, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Nicole Votto. Votto, 34, of North Haven, was arrested Aug. 24 and charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and violation of protective order. She was released after posting a $50,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 14.
