NORTH HAVEN, CT — An Ansonia man is accused of burglarizing an eatery in North Haven earlier this year. The Aztec Grill and Grocery, 122 Middletown Ave., was broken into during the overnight hours on Jan. 23, according to police.
Detectives gathered evidence at the scene along with surveillance video from nearby businesses. Investigators worked with area departments that experienced similar burglaries and identified Joseph Marino as the suspect, according to police.
Police executed a search warrant at Marino's hotel room and found he was in the possession of several items that were missing from the Aztec Grill and Grocery store, officials said.
Marino, who was incarcerated for unrelated crimes, was arrested Sept. 10 on a warrant, according to police. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.
Marino is also accused of burglarizing Amici's Café in Milford during the overnight hours on Jan 22.
