NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 17-year-old East Haven resident was arrested Friday on several charges in connection with a shooting late last year in North Haven, according to police.
In late December, North Haven police responded to the area of Hanson Park on the report of shots fired from a vehicle, according to police.
Police were initially told that a confrontation happened between two groups at Hanson Park and a vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed, according to officials.
"While being pursued by a witness in the area, the fleeing vehicle allegedly fired gunshots out of their vehicle," officials wrote in a news release. "North Haven detectives were assigned to investigate. The investigation revealed the incident revolved around a drug transaction. After several interviews of young adults and juveniles, coupled with the execution of search warrants on a home, cell phones, and social media platforms, probable cause was granted for the arrest of a 17-year-old East Haven resident."
The teen was charged with multiple counts of first-degree robbery, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy.
