A Conservative synagogue in Roslyn Heights, New York is looking to hire a full time Maintenance person with a positive, upbeat attitude. This position requires that you be available for a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends. There is an opportunity for overtime. Work is all year round and during all weather conditions. Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facilities • Perform routine maintenance around the building • Regularly check all light, heat and AC systems • Troubleshoot to determine necessary repairs • Repair simple broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore use of water fixtures • Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries • Paint the building as necessary • Complete daily maintenance checklist • Respond quickly to the needs of all departments • Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities • Ability to follow instructions from supervisor and senior members of maintenance team • Basic knowledge of, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair • Ability to use hand and power tools • Janitorial experience • Valid/Clean Driver’s License and reliable transportation • Us Work Authorization Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required • Related experience preferred – minimum of 3 years • English speaking and clear communication skills Physical Requirement • Prolonged periods standing, moving, and walking • Must be able to climb ladders, bend and lift up to 65+ pounds • Must be able to clean for a sustained period • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is required Please email your resume with contact information to [email protected] or call 516.621.2288 at ext. 110.
