Looking to Adopt a Dog - Service Dog Prospect

Description

Hello -- a little about my family. We are a small family of 4, two working professionals, a toddler and a disabled adult. We are looking for a dog to adopt to and train as a service dog. Service dogs from organizations can cost thousands of dollars with years on a waitlist so we are looking to owner train. We were previously on a list for a dog at a shelter but got passed over so we're searching again. We are looking for a young dog (9 months - 2 years) who is already potty and house trained (though crate training isn't necessary so long as they can be trusted without one). This dog must be good with cats as we have two, and children as we have a toddler. Also good with other dogs as we have family members with dogs and we are frequently around them. We're looking for a med-large dog (50-70 lbs) since some of the tasks we're training for will be mobility. We are happy to provide references who can vouch for us as a family and are willing to pay a rehoming fee! We are not particular about breed at all but are definitely more inclined to adopt a short haired dog or one that doesn't shed (though this is not a deal breaker) We very much appreciate any leads and are more than happy to answer any questions. We would love to meet any prospects before agreeing to adopt. Thank you in advanced!
