Description
Through a friend of a friend, I became aware of over two dozen cats living in a car. That same day, I became the foster home to over two dozen cats previously living in a car. In the months since, they have been vetted, spayed, socialized, and absolutely adored. Now it’s time for them to move on with their lives and settle into their new families. Please read everything, as I reserve the right to not respond if you ask questions answered in the post. Also, keep in mind cats are (supposed to be) a loved member of the family and a 10+ year commitment. Mullins(Mully) - Approximately 7 months; black and white, domestic shorthair. For the span of almost a week I didn’t know Mullins existed. When I first brought her and her family into my home, it was chaos. Many were sick, all had fleas, and a fair few were covered in feces after having been living in carriers inside of a car. Initially, I divided them up into categories based on needs. She was “fine” so she was temporarily put in my bedroom with the other “healthy kittens.” I thought I got them all out of my room and into their quarantine room. I was wrong. I didn’t know this until I woke up one morning at three am to make eye contact with her slurping up the milk from the cereal I’d fallen asleep with (classy, I know). Anyway, my consciousness seemed to offend her and she dashed off under the bed where I presume she’d been residing. The next day I lured her out with some spaghetti I was eating, and thus began our friendship and her adoration of human food. Nowadays, she loves the company of people and has come to expect noms in return for her adorable-ness. She will wait patiently for me to eat a meal so she can gobble up the last bit. Which I save for her. Because she gets mad at me and bites me if I forget 🤦♀️. In summary, she’s a sketchy weirdo, but it’s cute. Bear - Approximately 7 months; solid black, domestic shorthair. Bear was named by a two year old who recently went on vacation and saw a black bear in the smokies. He’s more like a bat, since he seems to navigate by sound. To explain, by the time I met him (he was around three weeks old), he had already lost his right eye to infection and most of the seeing in his left. You wouldn’t know it to look at him though, as he still plays, “hunts” toys, and chases his furry friends, all while managing to avoid running into walls… most of the time… Despite his start in life, Bear is now a healthy, playful, and loving kitten that is ready to move in to his furrever home. He gets along with other cats (especially other young and/or playful ones) and is fine with dogs. He would do best in a “calmer” home (AKA older or no children) that is also okay with him “yelling” whenever he is separated from your personhood; he’s very clingy. He does play bite and “bunny kick” but it’s due to him being a “young buck,” as opposed to malicious intent. Thank you for reading this far. There is a rehoming fee of $50 each, or $75 for two, to help recoup some of the vetting and food costs, and to dissuade nutcases from using them in nefarious schemes. Also, all of their left ears are “tipped,” as the universal sign they’ve been spayed, should they ever get outdoors; a vet performed the procedure.
