NEWTOWN, CT — Collis P Huntington State Park and Paugussett State Forest closed before 11 a.m. Saturday to additional visitors after the parking lots reached capacity. The weather forecast for today is sunny with a high near 63 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Next week will have several days of rain. Gov. Ned Lamont signed an executive order that gives park officials the power to close parks to additional visitors in an effort to promote effective social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. The state has 139 parks and forests.
