THE BEST SUMMER JOB - Beach Volleyball League Coordinator, $30/hr

1600 n lake shore dr, Chicago IL
Description
Hey there! My name is Ben and I started S3 Simply Social Sports Leagues here in Chicago 11 years ago (). We have our upcoming coed recreational beach volleyball seasons starting at the end of May and we're looking for a new league coordinator! It is a pretty easy job and very awesome because you're on the beach all night, but we also need someone who is VERY responsible, trustworthy, motivated, and driven to do the best possible job. You need to care about making sure everything goes smoothly every night, that every player has a great experience, and be a super social fun representative of our league. There will be a thorough training for this position, starting with a meeting with me beforehand and I will also be there the first night of each league to help out with things, show you the ropes, go through a lot of different helpful tips, and make sure you understand everything that is required of you. Here's some info on the leagues: - You get paid $100 every night! Mainly to set up and break down nets. And be helpful to teams and players. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. - Games are played Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights starting May 24th at the North Avenue Beach South Courts (right in front of the big boat restaurant called Castaways). - There are 2 separate 5-week seasons so 10 weeks of games total. There are some dates that we take off for holidays and private events, but you must be available Tues-Fri through at least August. We run fall leagues too, so being available through September is even better! - You MUST be able to commit to being there for EVERY night that we play. Your responsibilities: - You must arrive at the beach no later than 5:00 pm each night. Once you get quicker at setting up nets, arriving at 5:15/5:30 could be doable. - You will be taking the equipment with you to and from the beach and keeping it in your car all summer. It all easily fits in a standard sized trunk. If you live near the beach, you can walk it there and back each night. If you will get there another way, we have parking passes that you can use to park on the street nearby the beach. - You will set up 4-6 nets and out of bounds lines before games start. Then take them down at the end of the night. - You will make sure teams know how to play, understand the rules and logistics of the league, are playing fair and of course are having fun. - You will record scores and send them to us, as well as report any issues that potentially come up during the night. TO APPLY, reply to this post with the following: - Why should we pick you? What experience (not required) do you have that relates to volleyball, running a league, setting up volleyball nets, social events, etc? - Current pic - What is your normal job and what are your hours? Will getting to the beach by 5:00 pm be a problem? That means parking your car by 4:45 pm. As mentioned above, you will be getting help and guidance from me as the seasons are beginning, and I will be there for the first nights to help and go over what to do. Plus, even when I'm not there on game nights, if you needed anything ever I'm always available to call! I'm looking for someone who will show up on time, every week, with a smile on their face, excited to be there, and really takes this to heart as being our representative at the beach. If that's you, then please apply and I look forward to meeting you! Cheers, Ben
