APPLY HERE: The Maintenance Technician will assist with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Florida State Fairgrounds. To be successful, the Maintenance Technician must have working knowledge of various trades. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services including but not limited to: Installing doors, cabinets, paneling, flooring, bulletin boards, trim, painting, assistance with general plumbing and HVAC servicing needs, etc. -Working with/on high reach equipment. -Moves heavy objects as requested. -Coordinates work projects with other maintenance trades. -Uses a wide variety of tools and equipment to include airless sprayers, striping machines, sanders, automated machinery, etc. -Maintains shop and equipment in a clean, orderly manner. -Reports any maintenance concerns for building and equipment to the Facilities Manager. -Performs on-call emergency service as required. -Prepares surfaces for plaster or cement work by taping joints on sheetrock, caulking and waterproofing walls and cracks in floors, etc. by using appropriate tools and equipment. -May be called upon to assist/perform a variety of other maintenance tasks as may be required. -Other duties as assigned. -Must be available to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.
