Burglars stole cash and the ashes of a woman's late husband in a burglary in Bellmore last month. According to police, the burglars broke into an apartment on Pea Pond Road on Oct. 29. When the 82-year-old woman who lived there returned, she found her living room and bedroom had been ransacked. Police say the burglars stole the woman's wallet and a gold-colored box containing her late husband's ashes.
