BELLMORE, NY — "Kill All Cops" and other anti-police messages were found spray-painted at more than a half-dozen locations in Bellmore on Tuesday.
The graffiti was found at Newbridge Road Elementary School and six other locations near Bellmore Avenue, including on buildings, fences and cars, Nassau County police said.
Police say the graffiti was written between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads, who represents the area, called the anti-police graffiti "abhorrent."
"When our police are put in danger, the public safety of ALL law-abiding citizens is put in danger and we will not allow this county to descend into the chaos we have witnessed in New York City," Rhoads said in a statement. "The person or persons responsible must be held accountable."
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact Nassau County First Squad at 516-573-6153 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
