NEWTOWN, CT — Several streets in Newtown will have no parking Friday evening due to the town's annual Christmas tree lighting event. Parking bans are from 5 to 8 p.m. No vehicles will be allowed on Elm Drive between Sugar Street and Borough Lane. There will be no parking on: Elm Drive between Route 302 and Borough Lane.Hawley Road.Route 5 between Borough Lane and Glover Avenue.Route 302 between Main Street and Elm Drive.Birch Rise Drive.Juniper between Route 302 and Birch Rise.No parking is available in the police department driveways or lot.Police will mark the affected areas.
