Description

Hi, I’m 41, solid rhythm and *some* lead guitar player. I am looking for a dynamic violin/fiddle player and an upright bass player, and maybe some horns in the future. I have an eclectic bunch of original songs that I would like to work up. Most of them are structurally complete and just need to be worked up a little bit with some interesting players. Violin/fiddle player: Looking for someone who knows what to do if that makes any sense. Hang out in the background and provide mood and feel, but also know when and where to put the punctuation marks. Particularly the exclamation points, question marks, and the dot dot dots…. Upright bass player: Looking for someone dynamic and smooth. Be cool or whatever. It’s not enough to be able to play the upright bass. I’m looking for the upright bass player personality too. Cool. Beatnik type maybe. (Berets and unfiltered cigarettes are fine. If you were born or conceived in a coffee house on open mic poetry night you are automatically in.) And on the offhand you don’t have an upright, I can probably get one on long term loan. I don’t have a proper rehearsal space but I have enough space at home to get going with an acoustic trio. I hate the word “gypsy” as it is really offensive, but as a reference point for who I am and what sort of sound I’m loosely looking for it’s probably the most fitting. P.S. My songs and cover choices are all dope and you’ll probably like them and they’ll probably be a lot better with you violin player, and you upright bassist person.
