NEWTOWN, CT – Newtown residents who experienced a delay in having their power restored after Tropical Storm Isaias have a chance to share their experiences as part of an investigation into Eversource's response to the storm. First Selectman Daniel Rosenthal sent a letter to town residents on Thursday informing them that the town was granted intervenor status in the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority's (PURA) investigation into Eversource's response to Tropical Storm Isaias and its impact. Newtown joins Ridgefield and New Fairfield in working with PURA, as they had similar experiences to Newtown's eight-day wait for restoration of power following the storm. Part of PURA's investigation includes recording responses from residents about their experience with Eversource following the storm. Residents who lost power and are Eversource customers are encourage to share their experience in an email to [email protected] and include information about how long they were without power, their ability to community with Eversource and any concerns they have this will happen again. "I will continue to keep you updated as this process unfolds," Rosenthal wrote. [email protected] by Town of Newtown, CT on Thursday, August 27, 2020
