Seeking non-traditional instrumental musician for wedding ceremony

Meets

New York City NY

Description

We are seeking a musician or musicians to play instrumental music for a bit less than one hour during a wedding ceremony on June 11 in the Flatiron District in Manhattan. The gig will be from roughly 5:45 to 6:45 pm. We'd need you to play... (1) as guests are filtering in before the ceremony begins, (2) during the beginning of the ceremony as we walk down the aisle, and (3) at the end of the ceremony as everyone leaves the room. We're interested in a musician (or musicians) who can play an acoustic instrument that's uncommon in an American context. We don't want guitars, keyboards, horns, or drums. We're very interested if you can play the kora, kalimba, or something like them. We're open to original compositions and don't have any particular song we'd like you to play--although we certainly can request a few for you to learn if that's your preference. Either way, it has to be quiet, beautiful, and pleasant. If you're interested, please send us a link where we can hear you play and let us know what your rate for this would be. Thanks!
