NEWTOWN, CT — The town legislative council didn't approve proposed ordinances that would've affected how people can carry guns in town. The proposals included limits on carrying guns on town property and during demonstrations and open carry of firearms.
The council voted 6-6 not to advance the proposals to a committee for review, according to the Hartford Courant.
The council did pass a motion to get a legal opinion from the town attorney about banning carrying guns on town property.
