Description
Testing the waters on “Rehoming” my 5 painted turtles. Just don’t have the time or money at the moment to get their outdoor pond up and running. They have outgrown the tank they are in and I feel bad keeping them in there since I planned to have them outside by May. I was going to put them in a 300 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank for a year or 2 until I saved up for an aqua scape style pond. Everything included listed below:
*75 gallon tank and stand
*5 painted turtles…. 3 western and 1 southern (bought it as a midland online but it’s def not a midland) I think the other is a midland. 4 males 1 female (not a good ratio, probably need 1 more female to even it out better as they tend to harass the female)
*1 large mouth bass. Got him from a fishery in Martinsville when he was a baby and now I would say he’s about 2-3 lbs.
*Long UVB fixture and UVB bulb.
*2 mercury vapor bulbs (heat and UVB)
*LED strip light
*Fluval FX4
*Timer that I run all the lights on
* 2 turtle docks in the tank now and I think I have another one floating around my house somewhere.
*300 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank
*baby pools worth of large river rocks I have that I planned to put in the rubbermaid
*bag of sand I was also going to put in rubbermaid.
If you have a pond already I may consider separating the turtles but it has to be a super nice one. If not I would like to sell everything all together. Please only contact me if you are a serious aquatic turtle keeper and know what they need. Setting up the rubbermaid should be easy. I had planned to build a deck around the entire thing and setup a contained walking area with dirt and rocks and plants and then use another rubbermaid as a bog filter and pump the water out of the main pond out of the drain on the bottom. If you want to try that I can tell you all the stuff you’ll need. Everything included I would ask $500. The majority of that being the new Rubbermaid ($250) and the fluval fx4 ($299 new)
