NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Park and Bark will be reopening Wednesday, part of the state's second phase of easing restrictions on businesses and facilities shut down in March following the outbreak of the coronavirus in southwestern Connecticut. The park will be limited to an occupancy of 20 humans at a time. All visitors must practice social distancing, and should not visit the park if ill. The water features of the dog park will not be turned on during this phase of the reopening. Dog owners are advised that there are no public restrooms, and so should plan accordingly. Visitors should bring their own hand sanitizer, and also have a Parking Permit. Permits may be ordered on the town website or by calling 203-270-4340. The town is advising there will be ambassadors spot checking for numbers of visitors and parking permits.
