Join the Southern University Foundation and its 1880 Society for its initial Derby Day Affair Party for148th Kentucky Derby, an amazing affair with fun, fashion, foodie fantasies in support of a great cause. Join us for a delectable delightful day enjoying scrumptious cuisine paired with wonderful wines and watch the 148th Kentucky Derby while raising funds for Southern University System Foundation. Funds are earmarked towards the 1880 Society Annual Fund; providing funding for student scholarships, faculty grants and strategic University initiatives, while seeking to bring together a coalition of donors to create a culture of philanthropy for institutional longevity. Dress to impress and inspire! There will be many games, interactive activities, and oh so much style. There will be three tremendous artists who will be “performing” their artistry live as they create equine paintings that you will be able to bid on later that day. Each artist will be presenting additional works for purchase at Derby Day. There is free parking in the Belle of Baton Rouge surface lot. VIP parking is also available for those who select they package. This is a 21+ Adult event that will adhere to a strict dress code. Three Roll Estate will provide themed beverages spirits that will be providing a Derby Day theme tastings throughout the event. Beyond the culinary delights our chefs are preparing, there are several tasting tables of nutritious delicious foods. There are several games related to racing where you can win wonderful prizes to take home. Come dressed to impress as there are countless photo opportunities, local media photographers and photo scenes set up for you to strike a pose.
