Join us for the 2nd Annual African Heritage Celebration with Special Guest Speaker Dr. Howard Stevenson. Join us for our upcoming 2nd Annual African Heritage Celebration to benefit the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence on Sunday, June 26, 2022, @ The Modern Maturity Center. You don't want to miss this afternoon of great food, live musical performances featuring the Delaware State Jazz band, and a special guest Dr. Howard Stevenson will be discussing how to manage racial bullying. Dr. Stevenson is the Constance Clayton Professor of Urban Education, Professor of Africana Studies, in the Human Development & Quantitative Methods Division of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Executive Director of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative, designed to promote racial literacy in education, health, and community institutions. Dr. Stevenson’s work focuses on how educators, community leaders, and parents can emotionally resolve face-to-face racially stressful encounters. Dinner will be served at 3:00 pm.
