Public Works Institute - Advancing Careers in Public Works Public Works InstituteMeeting the rigid standards of APWA's Public Works Institute's Task Force, the Southern California Chapter has implemented a four module, 90-hour program to prepare public works employees for career advancement in management and/or operations. Participants will learn supervisory and management skills, and will learn how to apply them to real world public works applications. Participants work towards a certificate that will make a difference in their career. Modules 2, 3, or 4 are not a pre-requisite for Module 1. You can start with Module 1 and continue with Modules 2, 3, and 4 as they are offered. Class size is limited to encourage participants to interact with speakers and to share ideas on what participants see in their own agency or company. Also there is a high demand for this program, therefore we are limiting each agency to a maximum of 4 participants. If you need to send more than 4 due to returning students or someone needs a module to graduate, please email the committee at [email protected] to explain why and we will give further instructions on how to register. You may "Pay by Credit Card" now or you can "Pay by Check" at the door. PAYING BY CHECK: Our Southern California APWA Chapter has a lot of events. To assist in making sure your payment is applied to the Public Works Institute and the correct attendee, please bring your check with you on the first day of class. Checks should be payable to APWA Southern California Chapter. Please do not mail automated checks directly to the chapter, because these type of checks usually do not indicate who/what it is for nor who we can follow up with regarding the check. EVENTBRITE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE: By signing up for this class with a credit card payment or pay by check option, you agree to pay the eventbrite fees on top of registration costs. In the event you are not able to attend and request a refund, please note that we will not be able to return fees charged by Eventbrite.
