The Chickaroo Classic was established in 2008 to raise needed funds to support pediatric brain cancer research. About the Chickaroo ClassicThe Chickaroo Classic was established in 2008 to honor Caroline Hamilton and her battle with pediatric brain cancer. All funds raised through this tournament will benefit the Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytoma Research Program (PLGA) at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in addition to the Heather Walker Glioblastoma Fund at DFCI, in memory of Caroline's uncle, Albert III who lost his battle to this insidious disease in December 2021. Thanks a MillionTeam Chickaroo began in 2007 when Caroline, then 6-years old, was diagnosed with a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma. Through the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, the Team Chickaroo Mom Prom, and the Chickaroo Classic, we have raised over $1M towards the development of less toxic and more effective PLGA therapies.
