Come help remove invasive English Ivy, learn about the impacts of invasive species on local anadromous fish populations On Saturday May 14th from 9:00 am –1:00 pm corps members from the Watershed Stewardship Program will be hosting a volunteer event to remove invasive English Ivy from the Lodi Lake Wilderness area. Please join other volunteers in learning about the impact of invasive species in our environment, our watersheds, and on local anadromous fish populations as efforts are made to remove invasive English Ivy from the Lodi Lake Wilderness area. Volunteers: Come prepared to spend a few hours in Lodi Lake Wilderness area pulling invasive plants and picking up trash. We suggest long pants, close-toed shoes, sun-protection, and bring gloves for working, eye/sunglasses for eye protection, and a water bottle for refilling. Directions: From Highway 99, take exit 267 A Turner Road. Turn left on Turner Road and continue for 1.9 miles. Lodi lake will be located on the right. Enter the park and turn left to park. Parking can also be found along Laurel Ave, the last right before the park. The sign-in tent will be at the entrance to the Lodi Lake Wilderness Area, which can be found by walking along the pedestrian path on the east side of the lake. The mission of the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) is to conserve, restore, and enhance anadromous watersheds for future generations by linking education with high-quality scientific practices. A program of the California Conservation Corps, WSP is one of the most productive programs for future employment in natural resources. WSP is administered by CaliforniaVolunteers and sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
