Third Thursdays provide adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to enjoy engaging, inclusive social outings. The organizers of the monthly event all have special needs and run Third Thursdays with as little assistance from staff as possible. This program works to also help reduce bullying of individuals with special needs by utilizing our anti-bullying curriculum and providing an empowering, inclusive space where participants can gain support, a sense of belonging, build confidence, self-esteem, and develop advocacy skills.
