All of the money from the tickets to this class will be donated to the Samuels family Many of us know Shuan Samuels of Shuan Samuels Photography as a very kind and caring soul who always wants to lift the spirits of everyone around him and is always willing to lend a helping hand. It is time for us as a community to return the favor, Shuan's dad suffered from complications from brain tumor surgery on December 6th and has been fighting for his life ever since. This class will help to lift the financial burden the family is facing so they can focus on helping him get better and transitioning him to long term care. A quote from Shuan and his brother, "Hi, my name is Shaun Samuels, and as many of you know, our Dad, Orlando Samuels has been in the hospital since December 6th, due to complications from brain tumor surgery. Since then, he has been battling the swelling of his brain stem, pneumonia, a fungus infection in his respiratory system, being on a ventilator for breathing, a food tube, had a tracheotomy, and has had several more surgeries including a blood transfusion and a shunt procedure, to stop the swelling in his brain. There is still a part of the tumor remaining in his brain ; not growing, but he is unable to do any radiation treatments at this time, due to the weakened state of his body. He is unable to talk due to the trach, but has on several occasions able to briefly talk, with the assistance of a voice device. He communicates with hospital staff and us on FaceTime, with a whiteboard and an hearing aide. The left side of his body is still very weak, but he is able to move it a bit, as he undergoes rehab every day, while at the hospital. At the moment, we are only able to FACETIME with him, with the assistance of his Nurses, for communication and he was able to meet via FACETIME, his first grandchild, two weeks ago, which he smiled big and was very excited! As we are coming up on month 3 of our Dad being in the hospital and as we transition him to another Long Term Care Facility, we are asking for not only your prayers, but asking if you would consider a donation to our dad, as he navigates this challenging journey towards recovery. We will ensure your donations will be put towards medical expenses not covered with his medical insurance, long term rehabilitation, and support for our family.
