May Events at West Florida Public Libraries Beanstack: Summer 2022: Sail the Seven Seas on an Ocean of Possibilities Preregistration Begins Monday, May 16 Tuesday, May 31-Sunday, July 31, mywfpl.beanstack.org The Summer Reading and Summer STEAM challenge of 2022 is all about oceanography. Set sail across the seven seas on an ocean of possibilities! Complete groups of reading activities to earn prizes and digital raffle tickets. Attend community programs and STEAM events to earn additional raffle tickets. Apply your raffle tickets for a chance to win a system-wide grand-prize in your age group. Log all reading activities, program attendance, and digital raffle tickets in Beanstack by midnight on July 31 to be eligible for the grand-prize drawings! With a charge from the State of Florida to keep seniors at home, with independence and dignity for as long as possible, Council on Aging works to provide comfort and care in home, eliminating the need for long-term nursing home placement and expensive personal care. If you are aging and need help, or are a caregiver for an aging older adult, we want you to receive every service available. Legal Services of North Florida Tuesday, May 3, 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Pensacola Library Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) is one of seven legal services organizations in Florida. Our program in the 16 counties in the North Florida works hard to meet the legal needs of children, elderly, victims of abuse and those with disabilities. LSNF's priority areas of representation include support for families; preserving the home; maintaining economic stability; safety, stability and health; and serving populations with special vulnerabilities. These translate to cases involving family law, housing, public benefits, employment, education, and health care issues. LSNF's purpose is to provide case representation and advice to low-income persons in civil matters only. LSNF serves only the low-income and those with certain vulnerable circumstances including the elderly. LSNF never charges a fee for our services to a client.
