Description
SHREWSBURY, MA — A traveling exhibit focusing on Hindu culture and civilization will make a stop in Shrewsbury this month during a nationwide tour.
"Darshana: A Glimpse into Hindu Civilization" will be on display at the India Society of Worcester, 152 Main St., for one day in April. The exhibit is one stop in a nationwide tour that's already stopped at major U.S. cities, and with plans to stop in other Massachusetts towns, including Westford in May.
"This exhibition will have posters on arts, science, divinity, architecture, scriptures, spiritual traditions, festivals, dress, yoga, medicine, and others. There will be artifacts and other fun things as well," said Shrewsbury resident Mohan Gundu, a volunteer with Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA.
At 3,261, Shrewsbury has the third-highest population of Indian residents in Massachusetts — with Westborough not far behind at No. 8 — according to UMass Boston.
The exhibit will be at the India Society of Worcester from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on April 30. You can also view portions of the exhibit online.
