Press release from the JAX Chamber: April 18, 2022 April 12, 2022 — JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jax Federal Credit Union, a Jacksonville-based credit union that serves more than 41,000 members across Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker and St. Johns Counties, announced it will once again participate in National Credit Union Youth Month (NCUYM). Throughout the month of April, membership fees will be waived for all new members opening Youth Savings and Teen Accounts with a qualifying first deposit of $5 or more at the credit union's seven Northeast Florida branches. Developing a foundational understanding of financial well-being is particularly important for youth. Programs like National Credit Union Youth Month provide families with opportunities to begin that process for their children. The 2022 theme of NCUYM is "Save Small. Dream Big." Youth saving accounts that earn compound interest allow young members to deposit small amounts of funds on a regular basis and watch their savings grow like magic. Credit unions across America are providing opportunities for youth and their families to take steps on building a more secure financial future. "Financial literacy can never start too early in life," said John Servos, President and CEO of Jax Federal Credit Union. "National Credit Union Youth Month is an opportunity for us to work with families in setting up their children for a stronger financial future."
