GREENFIELD, WI — A man who shoplifted a business in the 7900 block of Layton Avenue on Tuesday morning told an employee that he had a gun during the encounter, although he never displayed any firearm, according to the latest logs from the Greenfield Police Department. The stolen property, two bottles of Bacardi rum, was recovered by employees after the retail theft. The suspect, a man who appeared to be in his 50s, ran out of the store and was seen leaving in a black SUV, according to logs. Here's a look back at police call logs from the Greenfield Police Department for April 11-17: Police tried to pull a car over on Thursday around 2:48 a.m. on the 4300 block of 76th Street but the car fled, according to logs.
