Christian Keyboard Player Wanted for Contemporary Church Praise Band
Meets
18615 SE 272nd St, Kent WA
Description
Peace Lutheran Church in Kent/Covington is looking for an experienced keyboard player with a heart for the Lord! If you can’t play every Sunday, we are willing to bring on a second player to make this work. Fun, friendship, and leading Sunday worship is what this band is all about! For the last few years, we have been rehearsing for an hour or so before the worship service and then going for it! To keep things running smoothly, pdf chord/lyric charts from ccli.com are emailed along with YouTube links 6 days before we play them. You practice and prepare at home, therefore you appear to be a strong player who is able to just sit down and go without much rehearsal, like the rest of us. You might be familiar with contemporary Christian praise music, however, you certainly play well in other genres too. You are very good at finding a part that fits the song and blending with the group. You like the idea of playing alongside a grand piano while you focus on the keyboard parts. Sometimes you may want to trade spots with the piano player. You understand tone layering and enjoy tweaking and customizing your tones to get something that is “just right.” We have a newer Yamaha keyboard, but because of your ability and experience, you probably have a keyboard loaded with favorite presets and features you may prefer instead. Currently, the praise band consists of bass, drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar/baritone lead vocal/harmony vocal, piano/soprano lead vocal, and occasional soprano lead vocal. We are also looking for additional strong lead/harmony vocalists. We play live with no backing tracks to keep things fun! The praise band rehearses from 9:15 to 10:30am and then leads contemporary worship from 10:45 to 11:45 every Sunday. We cover songs by Chris Tomlin, We The Kingdom, Lauren Daigle, Jesus Culture, Matt Redman, Rend Collective, Zach Williams, Alan Jackson, and a bunch of other artists you have been hearing on contemporary praise radio for the last 20 years. Of course we have some traditional stuff we do as well. Currently there are around 120 songs in our rotation with 1 new song added each month. Each Sunday we play 6-8 songs. The congregation is SUPER appreciative of what we are doing!
