The Mental Health Action Network, 1400 nonprofits, brands and leaders from 32 countries will come together to shift from awareness to action
This year, the Mental Health Action Network has chosen the theme of “connection.” We will encourage people to take their first steps towards mental health action – whether for themselves, for their loved ones or to advocate for change through a range of tools.
i understand is proud to be a part of this network to encourage change in the views and narratives surrounding suicide and mental/brain health illnesses to an updated and more accurate version. We will take action by inviting YOU to join us on Mental Health Action Day on May 19th at Cekebration Cinema Rivertown.
We invite our community to connect with i understand to:
Learn how to “be the ONE” for someone through our training program in partnership with Mosaic Counseling. In this quick hour we will discuss – O – Offer support. N – narrative properly. E – Encourage support.
Receive an i understand tee shirt – as a part of our wear, care, share campaign. Evoke the conversation and show others you are judgment and stigma free.
Sign our definition petition – by taking action to change the definition of suicide by changing your views and narratives surrounding suicide and understanding, the common denominator of all suicides is pain.
Create a ‘pink heart positivity notes’ to spread positivity and encouragement for others to take action for their own mental health.
Meet our mascot, share a photo on social media and win prizes!
Take a ‘pink heart stress ball’ – share your heart with someone else to let them know – you will ‘be the one’ if needed.
Special thanks to our event sponsors Meijer and Celebration Cunema Rivertown.
