Black Warrior Riverkeeper is teaming up with District 1 to help clean up our community and our watershed! Join us for a day of service on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Meeting point: Smith Middle School After a brief introduction, volunteers will be directed to one of our three cleanup locations. Locations: Sun Valley Elementary School, Cimarron Trail / Valley Crest Drive, & the Roebuck Walmart Safety: This event will take place along the roadside in an area that may not have sidewalks, so please only sign up if you feel comfortable with this. ALL children must be accompanied by an adult. What we encourage volunteers to wear/bring: 1. Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty (preferably long pants) 2. Your protective mask 3. Closed-toed shoes 4. Water What we will provide: 1. Garbage bags 2. Gloves & Litter Pickers
