Description
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Ahead of Montgomery County students' return to public schools Tuesday, the district is asking all students to use rapid take-home COVID-19 test kits given out by schools.
Anyone with a positive result is asked to report it on MCPS's form and follow the quarantine guidelines.
Montgomery County isn't the only district asking students to test before heading back to the classroom. Washington, D.C. Public Schools is requiring that all students and staff show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before going back to school buildings.
"If a student arrives at school without completing a test, families will be provided with a test kit to administer," DCPS says on its website. "Unaccompanied students will be tested on-site by trained medical professionals but may face a lengthy wait outside before starting the school day."
