POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Welcome to the April 18 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach. The week includes the return of the Point Pleasant Environmental Commission's Earth Day Celebration at Riverfront Park. The event is set for noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the park on River Avenue. "The celebration is intended to bring the community together to inspire an understanding and appreciation for our environment," the commission said. The theme is "Trees Make Point Pleasant," focusing on the importance of trees in the local environment. There will be free seedlings distributed at the event for anyone, whether residents of Point Pleasant or not. Bring the family and friends to celebrate how to be good stewards of the earth. Shop environmentally friendly craft and product vendors, grab a bite from a variety of food trucks and enjoy free rides for the kids. Point Pleasant Beach Meetings The Planning Board and Board of Adjustment both have meetings scheduled this week. The Planning Board is set to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the municipal building at 416 New Jersey Ave. The agenda had not yet been posted. The zoning board is set to meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the municipal building. The agenda shows three homeowners' applications. Point Pleasant Meetings There are no meetings of the Borough Council or planning or zoning boards this week. Schools on Spring Break The Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach schools are closed this week for Spring Break, but high school sports competitions are on the schedule all week, so expect to see some activity at the schools.
