NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ — A boat ran aground in Hereford Inlet after taking in water on Saturday, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City.
Six people, including the captain, were aboard the 60-foot vessel that was in distress Saturday afternoon, the Press said.
The captain made the decision to run the boat aground when he realized it was taking on water, the Press said. The boat was anchored 30 feet from the shoreline when the North Wildwood Fire Department arrived.
All passengers were accounted for and there were no injuries, the Press said.
The boat was in serious danger of capsizing, the Press said, but was able to be towed to Schooner Island Marina for an emergency haul out.
