Press release from the City of Carmel: April 15, 2022 Cold temperatures were no match for the 4,300 participants in the 2022 Carmel Marathon which took place last weekend. "We have received top billing on the national press wires for our event recap and currently rank sixth nationally on the list of top marathons in the U.S. to qualify for the Boston Marathon," said Race Director Todd Oliver. Comprehensive Plan heads to City Council for additional review The Carmel Plan Commission voted unanimously to send the proposed Comprehensive Plan to the City Council, signaling the plan's next phase of review. The proposed comprehensive plan could appear on the City Council's meeting agenda as soon as Monday, April 18, with additional opportunity for comments from the public. It is anticipated that the proposed plan will be assigned to a City Council Committee for additional review. During the months of April and May, each Carmel Utilities/Republic Services household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape waste, free of charge. Please place as much yard waste as possible into the trash cart, while allowing the trash cart lid to close. Carmel Utilities Drive-up Billing Drop Box Temporarily Out of Service Carmel Utilities Drive-up Billing Drop Box Temporarily Out of Service The Carmel Utilities drive-up billing drop box, located in the south parking lot at Carmel City Hall, One Civic Square, is temporarily out of service. Due to deterioration and long use, the structure has become compromised and is no longer able to securely hold customer payments. Carmel Utilities will post updates and announce the re-opening of the drop box when those details are known.
