Description
NEW MILFORD, CT — Police have identified two Bronx men as the drowning victims discovered in the Housatonic River over the weekend.
Dive teams recovered the bodies of Alexander Osoria-Paredes, 21, and Luis Hernandez-Cuello, 24, on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Police have been searching for the men since last Wednesday, when Osoria-Paredes went into the water to help Hernandez-Cuello, who appeared to be struggling. Neither man returned to shore.
The men and their families were visiting from the Bronx, and having a picnic along the river and swimming in the area of the Bull's Bridge power plant.
Police say the circumstances of the case are not suspicious.
The bodies were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further investigation.
