NEW MILFORD, CT — A pop-up tent that was used for coronavirus testing was recently stolen in New Milford, according to police. At about 7 p.m. on Aug. 11, a white man driving a pickup truck stole a tent the New Milford Visiting Nurse & Hospice Association used for their COVID-19 testing site at 68 Park Lane Rd., according to police. The man was driving a blue four-door GMC, possibly a "Canyon" pickup truck, with a Connecticut registration plate. Police said the plate numbers couldn't be seen on a surveillance camera due to the image quality and distance. The man was seen entering the south lot of the VNA, backing into a parking spot and then loading the pop-up tent into his truck. He drove away with the teal tent, heading north on Route 202, according to police. "The VNA is offering the COVID testing site as a service to the community, and although the tent only costs $50.00, it is a valuable piece of equipment for the nurses who operate the test site," police wrote in a post on Facebook. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Begley at 860-355-3133 ext. 2489.
