NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox is scheduled to host its first ever Earth Day Celebration from from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the New Lenox Commons, according to information from the Village. The free event is meant to help people find practical ways that they can reduce their carbon footprints. Information on electric vehicles, water conservation, wind turbines, coral reefs, food waste, plastics and composting will be available, according to the Village, and some areas will offer hands-on demonstrations. There will also be free activities for children, such as the chance to make bird feeders and nature collages.
