News release from the City of Dublin: DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin has reached a major milestone in the preparation of the 2023-2031 Housing Element Update. The Draft 2023-2031 Housing Element Update is available for a 30-day public review period, beginning today until Sunday, May 15. The Draft Housing Element is available on the City's website at https://www.dublin.ca.gov/2241/Housing-Element-Update. The Planning Commission is scheduled to review the Draft Housing Element at its meeting to be held on April 26. The City Council is tentatively scheduled to review the Draft Housing Element on May 17. The State of California requires that the City Council adopt a comprehensive, long-term General Plan for the physical development of the City. The Housing Element is one of seven mandated elements of the General Plan and must be updated every eight years to address existing and projected housing needs for all economic segments of the City. Housing need is determined through the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) process. The City's current Housing Element was adopted by the City Council on November 18, 2014, and was certified by the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on January 21, 2015.
