I am set to be euthanized April 21, 8 am. Why am I E-listed? Simply put, STRESS!! I'm struggling mentally from living in a shelter environment!! I am frustrated and upset and have started licking the kennel walls and barking into corners!! It’s just not humane to keep me here...Who can save my life? I'm a 3-year-old, spayed, brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier (42 lbs.). I have been at the shelter twice. The first time, I was surrendered; and recently, I came into the shelter as a found dog. My finder said I was very friendly with people and children but didn’t get along with dogs except the one I had been running with. My 2021 dog-to-dog assessment said I was tolerant of other dogs but fearful if pushed to interact. Volunteers say I’m super wiggly and affectionate, love to be petted all over and will lean in to get more. When it’s quiet, I like to rest my head on a lap. Out in the play yard, I like to explore and chase balls and squeaky toys. I know “sit” and “stay” and take treats politely when I’m not too excited. I need some help learning to walk without pulling so much. I do better when a harness is used. When in proximity to other dogs, I get barky and growly and pull towards them. I must get out of here before I completely lose it!! I need an experienced adopter or foster and help with my leash skills. I need a home where I can de-stress, have a predictable routine, and have opportunities for physical and mental activity. I haven’t been assessed with other dogs during this shelter stay; but it is recommended that I be an only dog at this time. Don’t let this be how it will end for me…will you come meet me before it is too late? Will you save my life?
