SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between April 11 and April 16. The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. April 14: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at noon. A person said a thief stole their wallet, containing cash and credit cards, while at Trader Joe's, police said. Someone tried to use the credit cards later that day but was unsuccessful, police said.April 11: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Terry Road in Smithtown from April 10 at 11:42 p.m. Someone entered Mannino's Bagel Bakery by disabling a security camera and prying open a back door, police said. The burglar damaged multiple door frames, a Verizon router and a cappuccino machine, police said.
